TRAVELING TO ASPEN: Have your travel agent make reservations far in advance since winter weekend travel is popular. Please note that all of the options below are subject to change.

Flying from Denver to Aspen takes about 35 minutes and is served by United Express, 1-800-241-6522. There are direct flights to and from Aspen from these cities:

There are also direct flights to Eagle, Colorado (80 minutes by car from Aspen) from Atlanta (Delta), Chicago (United), Dallas (American), Denver (United), Houston (United), Los Angeles (American), Miami (American), Newark (United), New York (American), Phoenix (American), Toronto (Air Canada), and Washington DC (United).

Ground transportation is available from both Denver (4 hours) and Eagle (1.5 hours) through Colorado Mountain Express: 1-800-525-6363, Fax #: 970-949-5032. Reservations are required. To get a discounted rate, mention that you are with Aspen Center for Physics.

If you are driving from Denver, please note that INDEPENDENCE PASS IS CLOSED DURING THE WINTER! Take Interstate 70 to Glenwood Springs and then Highway 82 to Aspen.

ARRIVAL AT THE MEADOWS: If you arrive by air you may call Aspen Meadows from the airport at 970-925-4240 for complimentary shuttle service. If you arrive by ground transportation, Aspen Meadows is located at 845 Meadows Road. If you arrive by car, drive north on either 7th or 8th Street and signs will direct you to the hotel.

GETTING AROUND ASPEN: Parking is free at the Meadows and at the Center, but cars are not needed during your stay. There is free, convenient bus service around Aspen and to each of the four ski mountains. Details will be available at Aspen Center for Physics.

REGISTRATION: Registration and a reception will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 on Sunday evening at Aspen Center for Physics. The address is 700 West Gillespie Street. If you arrive after 7:00pm on Sunday you may register the following morning at Aspen Center for Physics where the meetings will take place.

MEALS: If you are staying at Aspen Meadows, breakfast is included in your reservation and served at The Meadows. If you have special dietary constraints let the organizers know. Aspen Meadows can meet almost any request.

Lunch is on your own. Many restaurants are located in town about a 15-minute walk from the Physics Center. Bus service to and from town is also available.

Dinner is on your own except for Thursday night’s banquet at Aspen Meadows. There is a $60 charge per person for the dinner. You may bring additional adult guests if you like.

COMPUTER FACILITIES: The Aspen Center for Physics has wireless and ethernet internet access, and printers, a copier, and a scanner to email are available for your use. There is no access to the Physics Center network from off-campus. If you are coming from a foreign country you may need an adaptor for the electrical connection.
